Hello Nancilee, I'm another voice from the past! I was going through my jewelry box today and found two items I purchased from you many years ago when I worked at the old First Union Bank on the corner of Beachland and Mockingbird in Vero. Looking at the pieces brought back all sorts of memories (and I thank you for that) and had me wondering if you were still creating. Here I see you are, just in a slightly different way! It pleases me no end that you're staying busy and doing well, and I just wanted to say hello.

My best regards, and best wishes for a happy and prosperous life!

Sandra

PS - FYI, I have a beautiful rose gold band-type ring with two 'sculpted' swans on it; and a pair of bronze-like dangle earrings about 3 inches long, shaped like flowers with faux pearls clustered in the centers. G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S.

What a clear and thought-provoking post. As you say, this information explains perfectly why simplistic tools don't always work to create the change desired. "Motivation and memory need relevancy as a sidekick to foster action or change": very useful. Thanks, Nancilee!

We saw Paris After Midnight twice in the last week intentionally and indeed picked up much missed the first time. Wanted to get on a plane for Paris as soon as we left the theatre.

You are absolutely right! I am sickened by this terrible, senseless act. Why a gun? A young man, barely 21, a life taken, grieving family and friends, why, when other choices are available is the gun the answer? I don't get it.

I saw a small young boy punching an older puppy as he was walking his dog. He kicked the dog as well. Both my boyfriend and I watched in horror. I assumed the child was acting out due to a difficult home life. I then restrained myself for fear that the boy, should I confront him, would get the dog home alone and do worse. I feel like this was the biggest hesitation I have had about doing the right thing. It seems to me know when you do the right thing, you go out on a limb without any back up on society's part.

Later, upon their departure from the park I saw the boy pulling on the leash as the powerful puppy walked forward. It is clear upon reflection that they both needed to learn progressive human/animal training and that a parent should be supervising rather than expecting a small child to perform this task of walking a powerful puppy. I saw the child pick up a fallen branch and I finally hollered my request that he stopped harming the dog.

I wondered about the part in your story about your grandmother informing your mother of any misdeeds. When I spoke up from across the street, the boy was very startled. Apparently everyone else turned a blind eye to this abuse as we had from the start. I don't know what happened to that dog when the kid got home. I just knew seeing him try to whack that dog with a branch was more than I could bear. I wonder how many today cares to speak up? Honestly, I harbored some fear of retribution from the abusive boys' parents.

Oh my goodness Pegotty I can't believe a person from the Veedra past. thank you for the compliment. What I tried to do in jewelry is create a visual space that sends an appropriate message...and with the ribbon knot apparently I did. I still love that design and have one myself. Visual information informs us of resolve, beliefs, and wishes. Thank you for reading my blog. Perhaps yu would like to hear one of my free teleconference calls. go to windwater.com and sign up...the next one is March 24th 8 PM and they are once a month...Fondly Nancilee

You never mention what a brilliant jewelry creator you are! I cherish all of my Nancilee Wydra jewelry - especially ribbon knot - now 27 years old and still the symbol of being tied to the love of my life!
